One of the application of the theorem is the finding of the general expression of the matrices which are convertible with a given matrix. The theory of rectangular matrices appears much less important than that of square matrices, and I have not entered into it  further than by showing some of the notions applicable to these may be extended to rectangle matrices.

本定理的一項應用是對於任予的一個矩陣導出一條表示式，式中各項均由可逆矩陣所構成。長方形矩陣之理論相較於方陣來說重要性較低，而我也亦未深入探討，例如確認哪些原來適用於方陣的理論可推展至長方形矩陣。
